Sojourning through Scripture
What questions do you have about the Bible that you've never asked? Are there any passages you find challenging? How did this collection of writings that span centuries come together? What might they mean for us today? Join us as we explore scripture together. No experience necessary.
If it's your first time, look for Pastor Kevin - he will probably be wearing an Intertwined vest or t-shirt. You do not need to bring a Bible to participate; handouts are provided.
Witness for People & Planet
Join us for a walk and witness through Harrisburg supporting the livability of the world we inhabit. This is a focused, interfaith event supporting ecological justice. Bring your signs with messaging supporting the health of our environment (and policies doing the same).
We will meet at the City Island end of the Walnut Street foot bridge. We'll carry our signs across the bridge, then along the river to Kunkel Plaza, then down State Street to the state capitol steps, where we will be led in prayer by local faith leaders.
The walk from City Island to the capitol is less than one mile.
The purpose of this witness is to demonstrate that people of faith support policies that will protect the livability of the planet we inhabit, to call out the corruption that prevents those policies from being enacted, and to leave space for the divine in our efforts to defend God's good creation.
This event is a partnership with GreenFaith. If you would like to register for the event (not required), visit the Harrisburg GreenFaith Circle web site.
Peace Out(doors)
Peace Out(doors) offers an opportunity to reflect and re-center as the week begins.
We gather on City Island in Harrisburg. Participants bring camp chairs, and we sit in a circle around a small table furnished a Bible, a vessel of water, and a symbol for the day. We begin our time with a sacred reading, move to a time of centering, share a couple more sacred readings, and spend a few minutes in silence and prayer. Then we enjoy a few minutes of fellowship before concluding our time together.
Meet in grove of trees across from train depot. In the event of rain, we meet in the covered train station waiting area.
Please bring a camp chair or other portable seating.
If there is not much going on, there might be parking available beside carousel. Otherwise park in the north parking lot.
Hot to Go meal
Help serve a warm meal to our unhoused neighbors in Harrisburg. Although the Hot to Go meal is served each week, every third Friday is the "Intertwined shift." You can sign up for the early shift, the late shift, or both. The meal is served from the front gate from 5:30 to 6:30.
Early shift is 3:00-6:00; late shift is 5:10-7:00 (end of cleanup).
Contact kevin@intertwinedfc.org with questions or to sign up to be a regular volunteer.
Park in adjacent parking garage (at corner of Chestnut & 2nd) if arriving before 5:00; be sure to ask someone for a exit code to cover your parking costs. If you arrive at 5:00 or later, street parking is free.

This will be a more rigorous hike than usual. We plan to hike up to the blue trail and then along the crest of the mountain.
Note there are no bathrooms on-premises.
